Brief Introduction of Ferrari cars(ferrari 308)

Ferrari 308 made its first appearance at the Paris and London shows in 1975. It was inspired by the Pininfarina design. It was the first mid-engined sports car manufactured by Ferrari in 70s and 80s.

The initial models of 308 had fiber glass coachwork. It was very much successful due to its attractive line look and top class performance on road.

Ferrari 308 was Ferrari’s first two seated V8 engined road car. 308 series was the new beginning for the company as the new builder of exotic sports cars. It was designed to epitomize the sports car in this era.

The 308 was available in two styles over three generations. The GTB had a solid roof and better rigidity. The 308 GTS came with removable roof and panel in 1977. The roof panel was made of covered fiber glasses. The three generations of 308 were 308, 308i and 308qv. The engines of these generations were also changed. The 308 engine was a carbureted while for 308i, it was fuel injected and quattrovalvole for the 308qv consisting of fuel injected engine with four valves per cylinder. Ferrari 308 was upgraded as Ferrari 328 in the year 1985.

The 308 represents a 3-liter, 8-cylinder Ferrari sports car. 308 were available in two models:

• 308 GT4: Bertone styled V8 engined, successor to Dino

• 308 GTB/GTS: Pininfarina styled, 2 seat version of GT4s

• Ferrari 308 was available in steel body.

• It was the first mid-engined rear wheel drive car available in 70s and 80s.

• Its aggressive lines with sweeping curves made it more popular among the people. It is one of the most recognized models of Ferrari.

1971 Buick Riviera 1:18 Scale Die-Cast Vehicle $50.75 In 1958, GM’s design chief Bill Mitchell said, What we want is a cross between a Ferrari and a Rolls. In 1963, the Buick Riviera was launched as GM’s new personal luxury car. The Buick Riviera was not a muscle car, per se, but it had a tremendous impact of the American automotive scene. The Riviera represented one of the most successful American attempts at capturing European styling and performance in a large automobile. Positioned at the top of Buick’s coupe line-up, the Riviera has earned its place in American automotive history. Dubbed the boat tail , the Riviera’s look drew upon stylish cars of the 1930s. But putting the design on a 218-inch length, 122-inch wheelbase, 4,247 lb car resulted in a look that buyers either loved or hated. Because GM had to meet stricter emission standards, the 455 cu. in. engine was de-tuned down to 315 hp and the top speed dropped to 120 mph. A similar model of this car was used in the Clint Eastwood film Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. At 1:18 scale, this replica measures approximately 9 inches long.

2005 United States Grand Prix $74.71 The 2005 United States Grand Prix was one of the most controversial Formula One motor races in modern history. It was held on June 19, 2005 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It was the ninth race of the 2005 Formula One Season. Out of 20 cars entered for the race, only the six cars from the teams using Bridgestone tyres (Ferrari, Minardi and Jordan) competed. The remaining fourteen entrants, all using Michelin tyres, retired after the parade lap due to safety concerns. Following several tyre failures before the race, most spectacularly on Ralf Schumacher”s Toyota during Friday practice, Michelin advised its seven customer teams that the tyres provided for the race were not safe to use for the entire race, even though they had been providing working tyres for the race since 2001.
